I Almost Forgot! Last Minute Things I Did Before I Left for Europe

It's easy to get lost in the packing and planning when you're headed abroad. Here are some of the things that I did the day leading up to my departure and some last minute things that I decided to pack.
Last minute things:
Get a haircut! My hair was super long, all the way to my hips. A few days before I left, I cut 6 inches off my hair to donate.
Make sure everything money related was taken care of. Collecting paychecks, finalizing card information, ordering a Revolut card, cashing out my Venmo and CashApp, anything and everything related to money I wrapped up.
Deep clean my spaces. My bedroom and my car were pretty clean, but I figured when I came back to the US I would want to be greeted to a refreshing space.
Print out important information. With a new phone plan, new health insurance, and a new school, there were some things that I was bound to forget. I wanted to make sure that I had easy access to all information that I needed - even if I didn't have wifi.
Customize my WhatsApp and clear out my Instagram DMs! Though it may seem silly, I wanted to make sure that my WhatsApp had settings that I liked (including personalized photo wallpaper backgrounds for each contact) and that my Instagram DMs were cleaned out so the most relevant people were at the top.
Last minute packing items:
Toilet paper! When in Europe, I'm staying in on-campus accommodations. Imagine a really large apartment; I have my own bedroom and bathroom but I share a living room and kitchen with 7 (yes, seven!) other people. Because you're staying in what's basically an apartment, you won't come fully stocked with toilet paper.
Party dresses. I'm not a partier, but at the same time, I think part of the European experience would be going to some sort of party. While I didn't originally pack any party outfits, I threw a couple in my suitcase last minute.
A pullover. I don't normally wear pullovers, I'm more of a hoodie type of girl. But I found the perfect black, knit pullover that was super warm and thought that this may be ideal for when I needed to be a bit more dressy and warmer than a hoodie. Plus, I might as well try something new.
A rain jacket. Alright, I must admit, this wasn't a last minute pack because it's something that I've been planning on packing since I decided to go to Europe. The key was remembering to pack it.
Photos of my family! I wanted to make sure that my room felt like my room. It's a lot easier to bring stuff from Greenville to Greensboro than it is to the UK. Even though 15 photos isn't going to fill up all of the space on my walls, it's an easy way to feel more at home.
