December 31st:

We headed back to London around 6:30 AM from Hull. It's about a two hour journey, and when we got to King's Cross Station, me and my mom took a quick trip to see the Harry Potter shop located next to Platform 9 3/4s. We went to the hotel in the Waterloo district to drop our bags off before we went to Camden Market. We looked at all the different shops, had lunch, and got ice cream before it was time to head out.

Next on our list was an escape room (which we did, in fact, escape because we're very cool like that). It was Fast and Furious themed, and we broke out with about 10 minutes to spare. After we broke out, we headed towards Heddon Street Kitchen for dinner. On the way, we all stopped at a wine shop. Later, Jack, Cam, and my Dad stopped into TK Maxx and me and my mom stopped by Zara to kill a bit of time before our reservation.

Dinner was delicious and everything you would imagine it being. Cam and I split a beef Wellington, so did my parents. We had delicious appetizers and delicious dessert. Everything was very fancy, and if you're debating going to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, I would say just do it. It's worth it.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel, where we played games and had drinks in the lobby and then saw the fireworks at midnight. After the firework show - which is way longer than I thought, I think the whole show lasted about 10 minutes - we went and popped some champagne we had bought earlier in the day. After finishing our champagne and ringing in the new year, we all headed to bed.

January 1st:

Cam had an early flight and needed to be at the airport around 6:00 AM. I went with Cam to drop him off at the airport before heading back to the hotel and getting a couple more hours of sleep before breakfast. We had breakfast at the hotel and then my parents and I headed out to get ingredients to make mimosas.

We enjoyed mimosas at the hotel before heading out to the airport so they could catch their flight home. After saying goodbye, I got the Underground back to King's Cross and a train to Hull. I got back into my flat around 9 PM fully exhausted from traveling so much over the month, but with the new core memories of spending time with my family and Cam over my winter break in Europe.

In order: The Fireworks Ringing in 2023, Turkish Lamp Shop, My Mom and I in Camden Town, Heddon Street Kitchen - Gordon Ramsay's Restaurant, Family Picture After Beating the Escape Room, NYE BeReal.
